Downtown Portland’s outdoor winter ice rink officially returns for the season
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the second year in a row, Portland’s outdoor ice-skating rink has officially returned to downtown Portland.
The rink is located at 499 Southwest Naito Parkway, near Tom McCall Waterfront Park and the Morrison Bridgehead, according to Prosper Portland.
Starting Saturday, it will operate daily from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. until Sunday, Jan. 5. In 2023, the ice rink — Portland’s first outdoor rink in about 24 years — didn’t open for skaters until Dec. 16.
Similar to last year, the space will double as a Winter Village where the city’s economic development agency hosts events centered around food, arts and culture.
"Come down, see what we've got going on," encouraged Amanda Park with Prosper Portland. "The rink is bigger, it's better, we've got more fun things happening and planned all season long."
Those fun things even include the Woodsy Winter Village, featuring food from local vendors as well as cozy seating with fire pits.
Additionally, guests can look forward to live music on Mondays, an all-ages drag show by Darcelle's on Thursdays, as well as kids play days on Sundays.
Tickets are available online and in-person at the rink.
The skating rink will be open every day, except Christmas.
