Stillwater woman dies in fiery crash on I-35 Saturday morning
GUTHRIE, Okla. (KFOR) — A 41-year-old Stillwater woman is dead following a fiery wrong way crash on I-35 early Saturday morning.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 3 a.m. Saturday in the southbound lane of I-35 near the 157-mile marker in Guthrie.
Authorities say 41-year-old Kerrie Jones was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of I- 35 when her vehicle left the road, drove in between a concrete barrier at the State Highway 33 bridge before going airborne, landing onto the highway and catching fire.
Guthrie Fire Department removed Jones from the vehicle but she was later pronounced dead at the scene, succumbing to her injuries.
The cause of the of the crash is under investigation.
