Disney Delays 'Star Wars' Movie Planned for December 2026 - See What They're Releasing Then Instead
Star Wars fans just got some bad news.
A mysterious new movie in the franchise was supposed to arrive in theaters on December 18, 2026. However, the release date has been delayed, and a new Disney project is taking that slot in theaters.

According to reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, the Star Wars film was replaced at the box office by Ice Age 6, which was announced at D23 Brazil earlier this month. Multiple stars from the previous movies will return for the new project.
We don’t know much about the delayed Star Wars movie, and a new release date was not revealed. It’s possible that this is the project that will bring Daisy Ridley back into the franchise for her first movie since 2019′s Rise of Skywalker.
Daisy‘s new movie was first announced in early 2023. She provided an update on the project in October 2024.
Disney has one Star Wars project on its recently revealed 2025 release calendar. The Mandalorian & Grogu, starring Pedro Pascal, is currently scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 22, 2026.
