A DIY-SAVVY homeowner has wowed with her kitchen transformation that was achieved using an easy to use £22 buy.
Fans of the budget-friendly decor described the kitchen as looking “new” and were desperate to recreate the results for themselves.
Emma Caley shared before and after photos of her kitchen on the Facebook group DIY On A Budget Official, which has over 2 million members.
The room looked dated with wooden cupboards and red tiles before she got to work on revamping it.
A photo of the updated kitchen showed it looked brighter even with the blind closed after overhauling the cupboards and tiles.
“Paint beautiful paint! Rust-oleum kitchen cupboard paint in mat finish £22 a tin, covers in one coat but we have done 2,” Emma said.
“Tile paint rust oleum satin finish £22 a tin, we did 2 coats, new handles £12. Total £56.”
She revealed that an undercoat and primer weren’t needed before applying the first coat of paint.
She simply sugar-soaped the surfaces rather than sanding the cupboards and covered them in paint.
“If you do decide to paint your kitchen I strongly advise using Rust-oleum paint in a Matt finish, it’s extremely durable as I’ve scrubbed it and the finish is amazing!” she added.
Emma described the blinds which were in the house from before they bought it as a “great match” for the paint.
She decided to also keep the appliances and worktops the same in her kitchen.
Her clever choice of paint was enough to achieve an impressive transformation that racked up hundreds of likes and comments.
“Well done. Looks good,” one person wrote.
