Marin election update: Colbert expands lead in supervisor race
Brian Colbert has inched a bit farther ahead of Heather McPhail Sridharan in the race for the District 2 seat on the Marin County Board of Supervisors.
The county elections office released an updated vote count Friday that added about 4,800 ballots to the District 2 tally.
Colbert, a member of the San Anselmo Town Council, now leads with 51.16% of the vote, 2.32 percentage points over McPhail Sridharan. Before Friday, McPhail Sridharan trailed by 2.1 percentage points.
The election update on Friday added 25,521 ballots to the 115,444 previously tallied countywide. Registrar of Voters Lynda Roberts estimates that 5,440 ballots remain to be counted.
In other Marin contests, the race for three seats on the Fairfax Town Council has Frank Egger leading the pack with 21.64% of the vote, followed by Mike Ghiringhelli with 18.58% and incumbent Barbara Coler with 13.53%.
Three candidates remain close behind Coler: Bruce Ackerman has 13.05%; Chance Cutrano has 12.96%; and Cindy Swift has 12.5%. A seventh candidate, Doug Kelly, trails with 7.75%.
In the race for two Town Council seats in Tiburon, Holli Thier is in first place with 27.17%, Isaac Nikfar has 27.04% and Andrew Thompson has 25.25%. Chuck Hornbrook trails with 20.53%.
In the race for two seats on the Marin City Community Services District board, second-place candidate Lynnette Egenlauf continues to hold a sizable lead over third-place candidate Royce McLemore. Egenlauf now has 32.60% of the vote, while McLemore has 26.49%. Henry Mims leads with 40.91%.
In the race to represent Division 2 on the Marin Municipal Water District board, Diane Maier remains in first place with 37.49% of the vote and second-place candidate Robert Sandoval now has 36.46%. Jack Kenney has 26.05%
In the race to represent Division 3 on the North Marin Water District board, first-place candidate Michael Joly has 53.16% of the vote over opponent Francis Drouillard.
The next updates of the vote count are scheduled for Monday and Nov. 20. State law mandates that final election results be reported to the secretary of state by Dec. 3.
