Lea Michele Channels Her Inner Glinda in Pink and White Roger Vivier Pumps at ‘Wicked’ Screening in New York
Lea Michele was pretty in pink at the New York premiere of “Wicked” held by Anna Wintour yesterday. The upcoming film’s cast was also in attendance including leading ladies Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
The “Glee” star graced the star-studded premiere in a pair of Mary Jane-inspired Roger Vivier Viv’ Podium pumps crafted of lush pink and cream patent leather. Retailing for $1,195 via the brand’s website, the footwear pick included contrasting pastel pink and white uppers accompanied by thin ankle straps threaded through adjustable gilded buckle closures.
Heart-shaped insole detailing gave way to rounded toes and Roger Vivier branding throughout. 3.3-inch Trapeze block heels accented with gold finished off the set, offering Michele a walkable boost in height. The silhouette of the designer heel is not unlike Mary Jane styles that came before it. It is likely the shoe’s construction references the classic design. If the pink and white combo isn’t your thing, Roger Vivier’s Viv’ Podium pump also comes in a neutral “Black” colorway.
Channeling her inner Glinda, Michele wore a pastel pink gown featuring an asymmetric singular shoulder. The garment was crafted of a shiny satin fabric. A high neckline gave way to a boxy fit and a decorative draping moment to one side that waterfalled towards the floor. Michele also toted a Roger Vivier mini bag.
Michele’s shoe style is often contemporary and versatile. During appearances and on the red carpet, the Teen Choice Award-winning actress often wears pointed-toe pumps and strappy sandals from top brands including Jimmy Choo, Aquazzura and Stuart Weitzman.
Off-duty, her footwear ranges from slip-on loafers to slides and sneakers, hailing from Veja, Ugg, Madewell and Anine Bing. The songstress has found major success on the Broadway stage for her lead role as Fanny Brice in the hit musical “Funny Girl.” Michele’s performance in the show has received rave reviews thus far.
