Nice weekend ahead, strong front in the forecast next week
The pattern has finally shifted and we're finally getting fronts and cooler weather.
Behind this latest front, temperatures are in the upper 40s to lower 50s tonight under mostly clear skies. This will be followed by mostly sunny conditions tomorrow with highs in the upper 70s.
A warming trend is expected Sunday and Monday as winds turn southerly and increase out ahead of a strong front, which will move through the area Monday night/Tuesday morning. This front will bring a decent rain chance, maybe some heavier rainfall across the southeastern portions of the state with moisture from Sara could move north, followed by much cooler air for the middle and end of the week.
Highs will be in the lower 70s Wednesday, but could be in the 60s next Thursday and Friday. Nighttime temperatures will be even colder, getting into the low-mid 40s next Thursday and Friday morning.
TROPICS
Tropical Storm Sara is producing flooding and heavy rainfall across parts of Central America. A weakening trend is expected as it turns north, moves over the Yucatan, and moves into the southern Gulf of Mexico. Its moisture will get absorbed by the aforementioned front, pushing heavy rainfall into the central/southeastern Gulf coast.
