Ed Matthews, CEO of ADAPT Community Network, dies at 77
NEW YORK (PIX11) – Ed Matthews, who served as the CEO of ADAPT Community Network for the past 35 years, has died at age 77.
ADAPT Community Network is a nonprofit that provides programs and services for people with disabilities.
During his time as CEO, Matthews oversaw ADAPT’s growth as an organization. ADAPT expanded its reach from four boroughs in New York City to help more than 25,000 families and individuals across eight counties.
“Ed Matthews was a respected leader and an unwavering advocate for individuals with different abilities,” said Kelly Kaminski, the board president of ADAPT. “His work profoundly impacted the lives of thousands of children, families, and adults across New York for more than 50 years, creating lasting change and empowering countless individuals along the way.”
