Upcoming Capital Region overnight winter parking bans
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- With winter fast approaching, multiple cities, towns, and villages throughout the Capital Region have already issued overnight parking bans for the coming months. The restrictions are typically in place between November and April.
Altamont
Parking is prohibited in any public parking area and on all Altamont highways and streets between midnight and 7 a.m. from November 1 through May 1.
Amsterdam
Alternate side parking in Amsterdam will run from November 1 through April 1. Residents must park on the odd side of the street on odd-numbered days and on the even side of the street on even-numbered days. Vehicles must switch sides at 6 p.m. for the following day.
Ballston
No parking is allowed on town highways or in areas of public right-of-way in Ballston between November 1 and April 1.
Bethlehem
From November 1 through April 15, vehicles in Bethlehem cannot be parked on town roads between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Dalton, Mass.
The winter parking ban in Dalton will run between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 15 to April 15. No street parking will be allowed while the ban is in place.
Glenville
According to the Town of Glenville website, parking on town roadways is prohibited between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 15 to April 1.
Gloversville
Parking is prohibited on any public street in Gloversville between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. starting at 11 p.m. on November 30 through midnight on March 31.
Hudson Falls
Vehicles are not allowed to be parked on public highways in Hudson Falls between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. from December 1 until March 31. Additionally, no parking will be permitted in municipal parking lots between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Malta
No street parking is allowed in Malta from November 1 through April 1.
Niskayuna
Parking on town roads in Niskayuna is not allowed between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 1 to April 1.
North Adams, Mass.
Parking is not allowed on any street or highway in North Adams for over an hour between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. from November 1 to April 15.
Voorheesville
Street parking is banned in Voorheesville between November 15 through April 15 from midnight to 6 a.m.
Wilton
Parking is prohibited on all highways and roads in Wilton between November 15 and April 1.
Drivers found in violation of the various parking restrictions may face a fine ranging from $25 to $100, depending on the municipality. Cars parked in banned areas may also be towed.
