Toys for Tots shopping spree held at Glenville Walmart
GLENVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Members of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve went on a shopping spree on Friday for a good cause. Volunteers bought toys for the 2024 Toys for Tots campaign thanks to a $25,000 donation from Capital Region Dunkin' locations.
Organizers said the shopping spree ensures every child will receive an age appropriate gift.
"We can pick and choose what we're bringing in," Capital Region Toys for Tots Coordinator Shelby Kleniewski said. "So we can collect thousands and thousands of toys from our community events, but when it comes to what we specifically need for certain age groups, this is where it really comes together."
Friday's shopping spree focused on toys for older children, who organizers said are sometimes forgotten. The popular gifts this year include bracelet making kits, sports equipment and board games.
