Newberg-area pinot noir named one of the best in the world
PORTLAND, Ore. (Portland Tribune) — A wine produced by Drouhin Oregon Roserock, a winery based in Dayton, has been named one of the best wines on earth by Wine Spectator.
In the magazine's annual global Top 100 list, the winery's Drouhin Oregon Roserock Pinot Noir Eola-Amity Hills 2022 was named the sixth best wine of the year.
The Yamhill County winery is part of the Oregon branch of Domaine Drouhin, which also has operations in Burgundy, France.
"It's no longer rare for Old World wine institutions to set up shop in the United states, but this esteemed Burgundy house — founded in 1880 — was the first to plant its flag in Oregon's Willamette Valley back in 1988," said Tim Fish, senior editor at Wine Spectator. "Maison Joseph Drouhin's Oregon bet paid off."
Drouhin's winemaker, Véronique Boss-Drouhin, oversees winemaking in both countries.
