Lea Michele Shares Her 'Wicked' Movie Review, Reunites with Glee's Alex Newell at NYC Premiere
Lea Michele is sharing her review of the Wicked movie after attending the film’s New York City premiere!
The 38-year-old actress previously opened up about her desire to play Elphaba in the movie, but the role went to Cynthia Erivo instead.
Back in 2019, Lea said on Watch What Happens Live, “That would be incredible. I don’t think that they’ve gotten to the point of talking to people about it yet, if they have they haven’t called me. But, yes I’m like backstage painting myself green just waiting.”
Lea attended the NYC premiere of Wicked on Thursday (November 14) and ran into her former Glee co-star Alex Newell. After the event, she shared a review of the movie on her Instagram Stories.

“What a beautiful evening and so exciting to finally see WICKED! The entire movie was incredible. I was so blown away and cannot wait to see it again,” Lea said.
She continued, “Ariana Grande was a sensational Glinda. And my heart stopped watching Cynthia Erivo bring the house down (like she does so well) giving us the most incredible Elphaba.”
Lea also shared a photo with Alex and wrote, “[love] you Alex.”
The former co-stars cleared the air last year after Alex made negative comments about Lea in the past.
