Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight is already breaking betting records at sportsbooks
What happens when a former YouTube sensation turned boxer meets one of the most feared fighters in the sport’s history at AT&T Stadium for a bout live-streamed on Netflix?
You get multiple generations of fight fans wanting in on the action.
At least that’s been the case so far in the run-up Friday night’s bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.
“Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight is on track to be the most bet boxing match in BetMGM history,” senior BetMGM trader Alex Rella said in an email to For The Win. “We are starting to see action on Paul but Tyson is still popular with bettors. The worst result would be a first round knockout by Iron Mike.”
Paul already has the second-most bet boxing match in BetMGM history (Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz in August 2023) behind the Gervonta Davis-Ryan Garcia bout in 2023.
Yet despite Paul entering the ring as a heavy favorite, the 58-year-old Tyson is seeing the majority of the action from the public. As of Friday morning, 69 percent of all bets on BetMGM’s three-way line has Iron Mike winning. Tyson is also receiving 54 percent of all money wagered on the fight.
Just keep in mind, this is Tyson’s first fight since 2005 and Paul had typically only agreed to bouts that lets him look competitive.
While it’s likely almost everyone comes away disappointed with the main event itself, that doesn’t seem to be slowing down the amount of money rolling in on the action.
At BetMGM, the most-bet Tyson outcomes are
- Mike Tyson by KO/TKO or DQ (+250)
- Mike Tyson on points (+1100)
- Mike Tyson to win in Round 1 (+1400)
