I’m having my SECOND BBL because the first one has died – my bum just needs more volume so it makes sense to me
A WOMAN who has already had 13 plastic surgeries has explained why she’s now undergone a second BBL.
Scarlet Black has documented the procedure, which she had done alongside full body lipo, on her TikTok page.
She underwent the surgeries in Istanbul, Turkey, but was bombarded with questions as to why she’d had another Brazilian Butt Lift, so responded in another video.
Explaining that her surgery had began as “corrective” to get rid of her loose skin after losing 13 stone, Scarlet said: “I have had an arm lift, a thigh lift, a periareola.
“I’ve had three boob jobs, I’ve had an extended tummy tuck. I had muscle repair, then I had a lower body lift, so a buttocks lift.
“Then I had my lipo and my BBL, my first one.
“To achieve your desired look, you normally need two BBLs because a lot of the fat that’s re-injected into your buttocks actually dies like 50%, sometimes more.
“It’s different for everyone.”
Despite that, Scarlet said she had been thrilled with the “before and after” of the first BBL, which she said was focused on “the shape of my bum”.
“This one we focused on lifting it up and putting volume in it,” she added.
Scarlet didn’t reveal how much she’d spent on her latest surgery.
However, in September last year, she estimated she’d spent around £31.5k transforming herself – spending an entire house deposit on the ops.
She first entered the surgery field when she had a gastric sleeve in February 2021, to help her lose an incredible 13 stone.
After that, Scarlet’s confidence skyrocketed and she decided to have a tummy tuck, muscle repair, arm liposuction, as well as an arm lift that was later booked for November 2021.
In March 2022, Scarlet booked her breast augmentation which added another dent in the 30k, costing her £6,000.
Following on from her March surgeries, she later went back to Turkey in August 2022 to have a thigh lift and breast augmentation, which summed up to £7,000.
What are Brazilian Bum Lifts and why are they so popular?
Buttock enlargement surgery – known as a Brazilian bum-lift (BBL) – is used to make the bum look bigger, rounded and lifted.
Surgeons transfer fat, inject filler or insert silicone-filled implants.
It is the fastest growing cosmetic procedure but also one of the most dangerous, according to the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS).
Many patients are travelling to the likes of Turkey or seeking out unregistered surgeons in the UK and are not given full information on the risks.
BBLs carry the highest risk of all cosmetic surgeries – with more than one death occurring per 4,000 procedures.
Due to celebrities undergoing such ops, many women are hoping to emulate their looks.
Consultant clinical psychologist Dr Anu Sayal-Bennett, a chartered member of the British Psychological Society, told the BBC: “Despite there being so much about body positivity, there are pressures for women – and men too – to look a certain way.”
Many people travel abroad for the procedure because it is cheaper and advertising is “terribly seductive”, combined with the idea of a beach holiday, added Dr Sayal-Bennett.
A year on from that, the 27-year-old went back to her surgeon this August, to add some curves back into her body with the first BBL and another boob job, which ended up costing her £8,000 and used up the remainder of her deposit.
In an interview in February 2024, Scarlet admitted she’d had 13 surgeries by that point.
