Smash-hit crime drama with perfect Rotten Tomatoes score lands on Netflix – but is branded ‘stressful’ by viewers
NETFLIX fans have been left feeling ‘stressed’ after tuning into the site’s latest hit thriller.
In the show, a surgeon played by Mark Strong sets up an illegal clinic in the tunnels beneath Temple tube station in a desperate bid to save his dying wife.
Originally produced by Sky, Temple has now landed onto the popular streaming platform Netflix.
It is the UK version of a Norwegian show about the intelligent yet devious surgeon Daniel Milton.
It also features Daniel Mays from Line Of Duty as transport network employee Lee Simmons.
Daniel’s world is shattered when his wife Beth develops a fatal degenerative disease.
After conventional treatment options run out, Daniel is determined to find a cure for his wife.
He starts an underground’ clinic in the network of tunnels deep below Temple tube station.
But in order to fund his clinic he has to agree to treat criminals and other desperate patients who can’t seek help from regular medical facilities.
When the secrecy of his clinic is threatened after a series of exciting events, he faces a race to save his wife’s life.
Viewers have rushed to social media to praise the series, but at the same time, many found it stressful.
One viewer stated: “Temple on Netflix. OMG I’m hooked. I always do this to myself before bedtime”
Another added: “Temple on Netflix is so good. But I’m so stressed”.
A third said: “An English Breaking Bad?”
Audience viewers on Rotten Tomatoes gives Temple a perfect score and the majority of critics love it too.
One viewer said: “Spellbound by the storyline, and by Mark Strong’s utterly brilliant portrayal of a upper-middle class psychopath with good intentions.”

Alistair McKay from the London Evening Standard declared: “It feels, at times, like early Tarantino, with dodgy coppers and incompetent criminals, as Strong holds the thing together with his glower.”
The Times’ Camilla Long agreed: “Temple is a clever little piece of programming.”
However, Joel Keller from the Decider didn’t enjoy the show and said: “The show isn’t interesting enough to get past its glaring flaws.”
There are two seasons available to stream with fans hoping for a third.
