I’m a size 8 and still on weight loss injections – I’m branded ‘ridiculous’ but I’ll never stop even though I’m only 9st
A WOMAN who’s lost a staggering four stone on weight loss injections has hit back at trolls who have slammed her for continuing to use the drug.
Charlie made the decision to start on the Mounjaro injections after “10 years” of yo-yo dieting.
She’s now nine stone, but is still considered “overweight”, according to the NHS’ BMI calculator[/caption]And she’s credited the medication for changing her life, after going from 13st 3lbs to 9st 2lbs.
Charlie has been sharing her Mounjaro journey on her TikTok page, but is still finding herself targeted by trolls, who have criticised her for staying on the injections.
However, in a new video, Charlie – who is still technically considered “overweight” on the BMI scale – explained that the drug is the reason she’s managed to lose the weight.
“I’m a size 8, I weigh 129lbs and I take weight loss injections,” she said.
“You see, I wasn’t 129 pounds when I started and I wasn’t a size 8 when I started.
“Due to the fact I take weight loss medication, I think it stands to reason that I have lost weight.
“Shock, horror!”
In fact, Charlie – who has gone from a size 18 and BMI of 26 to a size 8 and a 25.5 BMI – insisted she reckons she’ll be on Mounjaro for life, after finally finding something that works for her.
She pays £160 a month for the injections, after going from a starting dose of 2.5mg up to 10mg, with her provider happy for people to use the drug long-term.
“I don’t think I’m ever going to stop,” she said.
“You see, I started with a BMI of 36.
“I was a size 18 and I weighed 13st 3lbs and I was miserable.
“Absolutely miserable.
“I had yo-yo dieted for about 10 year – honestly, never ending cycle.”

Charlie, who has gone from a size 18 and BMI of 36 to a size 8 and a 25.5 BMI, is still technically considered “overweight” on the Body Mass Index scale.
For her height, she would have to get down to a BMI of 24.9 to be considered a “healthy weight”, according to the NHS calculator.
However, there have been called for the health organisation to scrap the BMI scale completely, as some call it “outdated” for not taking people’s body frame or muscle mass index into account.
My brain thinks about food all day – the medication makes it stop
Mounjaro user Charlie
Charlie is hoping to lose another 10lbs to get to her final goal.
But she added: “Weight loss medications are right for me and my circumstances.
“Whether they’re right for you or your circumstances, that’s up to you to decide.”
Despite Charlie’s video, trolls were still active in the comments section, with one writing: “You don’t need it anymore and it’s ridiculous that you are!”
“I will just regain again,” Charlie responded, adding that she “works and pays for it… it does no harm to anyone else”.
She wrote in response to another comment: “Diabetics stay on this medication for life – there is no more danger for me than there is them.
“They have disease and I have one too – how comes it’s acceptable for them but not for me?
“My brain thinks about food all day. The medication makes that stop.
“So I can eat healthy and make good choices. Without living a torturous life of denying myself.”
“So weird how weight works I’m a size 10 and weigh 13 stone!” another commented.
“No one believes me when I say how much I weigh coz people who are a lot bigger then me are the same weight as me.”
“Height makes a big difference,” Charlie, who is 5ft tall, replied.
“I don’t see it as any different to taking medication for your blood pressure… you don’t stop taking them because they’ve worked!” someone else said.
“You do you honey!!”
According to the ASDA Online Doctor website, which supplies Mounjaro to paying customers, “studies into taking the highest maintenance dose of Mounjaro (15mg) for 72 weeks didn’t find any negative long-term side effects”.
However, they added “some side effects may cause long-term health problems if not addressed early”.
If you are on weight loss injections and have concerns about the long-term effects, it’s advisable to speak to your GP.
