My 76-year-old mum is dating a man my age – he’s been divorced 3 times & is so poor he lives with HIS mother
A WOMAN has revealed her anguish at her elderly mum’s new boyfriend.
The 47-year-old, who chose to remain anonymous, is close in age to the new beau but finds him “exhausting to be around”.
Her mum is 76-years-old and this is the first relationship she has been in since her husband died seven years ago.
But since her boyfriend is 27 years her junior and living with his mum following his third divorce, her daughter is suspicious of his intentions.
She wrote into the Closet Confessions podcast (hosted by author and journalist, Candice Brathwaite, and actress and online personality, Coco Sarel) in search of advice.
The mum-of-two, who is married with a self-confessed “boring life”, sought guidance after spending more time than usual with her wealthy mum’s new beau recently.
“My mum is 76-years-old and is dating a man aged 49, two years older than me,” she shared.
“They’ve been together for about a year.
“He is the first man she’s been with since my father died seven years ago.
“I’m truly happy that she’s happy.
“I have no issues with him ‘replacing my dad’ or anything like that. but the age difference is a bit worrisome because my mum is wealthy and the boyfriend is not.”
The daughter went on to reveal that her mum’s new man has been divorced three times and lives with his mum.
“After spending more time with him recently, I’ve realised that I can’t stand to be around him,” she continued.
“He often makes problematic statements and I have to bite my tongue.
“He is neither witty, funny or intelligent, but very much thinks he is.
“He’s the type of man that is exhausting to be around.

Candice and Sarel urged the woman to “set up a meeting” with her mum so that she could ensure she protects her assets.
“I think you need to remember that your mum is not dumb,” Candice advised.
“And your mum too can just be having fun.
“So aside from an important conversation about the protection of assets, let her get on with it.”
