Tributes to much-loved mum, 44, ‘stabbed to death at home’ as man, 46, charged on suspicion of murder
HEARTFELT tributes have been pouring in for a mum, described as a “huge integral part of the family,” following her death.
Police revealed that Cheryl McKenna was found dead at a “private address” on Other Road in Redditch on Monday.
In a statement, Cheryl’s family said: “Cheryl was a huge and integral part of our family and will be missed terribly as a mother, daughter, sister and aunt.”
A man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was later charged with the same offence.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said they arrived at the scene following reports of a “stabbing” at the property on Other Road at 9.32am.
Medics found Cheryl in a critical condition and despite administering advanced life support, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have confirmed that they will continue with their investigation, according to BirminghamLive.
Chris Hemming, the man arrested, has been charged with murder, officers have revealed.
The 46-year-old appeared in front of Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Friends of Cheryl have taken to Facebook to pay tribute to her and offer condolences to her family.
One user wrote: “This is just awful. Condolences to the family.”
“Poor woman. And her poor children, may she rest in peace and may her family get the justice they deserve,” commented another.
While a third added: “This is truly heartbreaking for all Cheryl family and her friends, sending them all my heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies at such a sad time.”
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: “The family of Cheryl McKenna, who lost her life in Redditch this week, have paid tribute to her.
“Officers were called to an address in Other Road on Monday (11 November). Cheryl, aged 44, sadly passed away at the scene.”
