See how much Ohio State is considering raising student football ticket prices
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Ohio State is considering raising student football ticket prices again, asking $44 per game for the 2025 season.
The Board of Trustees Finance and Investment Committee met Wednesday afternoon, and among their discussions was a measure to increase student football ticket prices from $36 for non-conference games and $38 for conference games to $44 per game. The committee unanimously approved the resolution to advance.
The cost would equate to $308 for the full-season package with seven home games and $126 for the Big Ten package with four home games. The 2025 schedule includes the home opener Aug. 30 against Texas and Big Ten home games against Penn State and UCLA.
The recommendation comes from the athletic department, one of the nation's only self-sufficient departments and the most profitable university athletic program in 2022, according to NCAA data compiled and published by USA Today in March.
The proposed change has already been approved by relevant administrators, according to committee documents, who reminded trustees that it would only be the second increase in student ticket pricing since 2013. The first increase in that period went into effect for the 2024 season, and tickets were consistently $34 per game for the 10 years prior.
Although the individual ticket price would increase, the packages' total costs would decrease from the 2024 season, as this year's ticket packages were for eight home games and five Big Ten games.
The athletic department also recommended increasing golf course membership dues and green fees as follows, citing increasing demand and guest expectations along with rising maintenance costs.

The changes will still need to be approved by the full Board of Trustees, who will meet next week. The Board will also have the opportunity to approve other committee discussion topics at that time, including updates to Carmenton and the establishment of 32 new scholarships and funds to support students, faculty and research across colleges.
