ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy Thursday! Meteorologist Matt Mackie says there will be a good amount of sunshine this Thursday, and temperatures will reach the high 40s.
P'Nut the Squirrel's owner is seeking a lawsuit after the Department of Environmental Conservation seized the animal. Also, the Capital Region Transportation Council and the town of Colonie will be launching a new study called the Central Avenue, West Corridor Study. 1. P’Nut the Squirrel’s owner seeking lawsuit after DEC seizure of beloved animal
Mark Longo, the owner of internet sensation P’Nut the Squirrel, is set to seek legal action against those accountable after the Oct. 30th seizure of the squirrel from Longo’s home in Pine City.
2. Colonie: Central Avenue, West Corridor Study
The study will focus on examining future land use and transportation concepts for a three-mile stretch of Central Ave. in Colonie. Colonie Town Supervisor, Peter Crummey praises the move but says the state needs to do more to maintain their part of the corridor. “There’s many structures there that could be redeveloped, which is my large mission here. Now we need to look back and make it much easier for folks to redevelop existing sites, so they don’t become zombie properties.”
3. Water conservation notice issued in the village of Coxsackie
The Village of Coxsackie has issued a water conservation notice for residents who use the Village of Coxsackie water system. The notice will be in place until further notice.
4. DMV shuts down illegal Dutchess County car dealership
The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announced on Wednesday that operations at a car dealership in Poughkeepsie have been halted after a multi-year investigation. Three people were arrested as a result of the shutdown.
5. Pokemon no-Go: Popular game may face a ban in Colonie
Over the years, The Crossings Park of Colonie has become a popular spot for Pokemon Go players. The Colonie Pokemon Go Discord server admin, Spencer Moon, told NEWS10’s Anthony Krolikowski that Town officials want to remove the mobile game from the park.
