Suspect shot by deputy after late night gunfire in Camas
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A suspect was hospitalized late Wednesday night after being shot by a deputy in Camas, authorities said.
Just after 10 p.m., the Clark County Sheriff's Office said they received multiple calls about gunshots from residents in the 2300 block of Northeast Everett Street.
Units from multiple agencies responded to the scene and at around 10:37 p.m. a drone spotted the suspect outside of a home.
Officials said they learned that the suspect was believed to be a person with a no-contact order barring him from being at the home or possessing a gun.
Eventually, the suspect entered a car at the home and authorities moved in to make contact, which is when a deputy ended up shooting the suspect.
The suspect was given first aid and taken to a nearby hospital, no other injuries were reported.
The deputy involved in the shooting was put on Critical Incident Leave and the incident is under investigation by the Washington State Patrol.
