Viral Ninja Creami ice cream maker is on sale – but the new Cuisinart version is £110 cheaper
While some desserts are weather dependent – who wants to eat hot pudding and custard on a summer’s day – ice cream isn’t one of them.
The hugely popular Ninja Creami ice cream maker is currently on sale for £149.99, saving shoppers £50.

The Ninja Creami deal is part of Ninja’s early Black Friday sale, which also includes the brand’s popular air fryers, multi-cookers and cooking accessories
But I’m so excited, in a super-chilled sort of way, to try out the newly launched Solo Scoops Ice Cream Maker from Cuisinart that costs just £39.99.
At £110 cheaper than the pricier Ninja Creami, it’s the perfect affordable alternative for ice cream lovers to indulge in.

“As someone who is always on the go, I love how quickly I can whip up a batch of homemade ice cream or sorbet. It’s perfect for health-conscious foodies too.”
Cuisinart Solo Scoops Ice Cream Maker, £39.99
The Cuisinart Solo Scoops Ice Cream Maker is easy to use — like the Ninja you just leave the bowl in your freezer overnight, pop it back in the machine the next day, add ingredients, and let it do its thing.
With the Ninja Creami, you freeze your mixed ingredients in the bowl, but with the Solo Scoops, you freeze the bowl and then add the mix.
The Cuisinart ice cream maker has a capacity of eight scoops and also makes frozen yoghurt, sorbet and gelato (a lighter form of ice cream) and all ready to eat in less than 25 minutes.
I’ve always wanted to try making ice cream, but I’ve been put off by the many steps required when creating it by hand and the high price of machines that make it automatically.
But both ice cream makers come with recipes and are pretty quick to use.
Although the Ninja wins on speed, taking just a few minutes to churn each batch. (Bear in mind though you have already mixed and frozen your base in the bowl for 24 hours first.)
For me though the biggest difference between the two is the price.
As somebody who can burn water, I’m not up for shelling out £150 for something that I may not be very good at using, even if it is on offer.
I’d much rather invest in an affordable alternative, and if the machine ends up languishing in a cupboard, the hit to my wallet isn’t so bad.
