Cyprus firm launches eco-friendly event management app
Cyprus-based software engineering firm Pale Blue recently announced the launch of Eventorio, an event companion app designed to streamline event planning and improve attendee experiences.
According to the company, the app provides “a seamless, paper-free way to store and share event schedules”.
They added that the app offers “a paper-free solution that not only benefits the environment but also brings convenience to event organisers and participants alike”.
Following the launch of the app, Pale Blue co-founder and director Mike Yerou spoke to the Cyprus Mail about Eventorio’s origins, the company’s future plans, and his outlook on the local market.
The app, Yerou mentioned, was created by Michael, Anil and himself. “Our passion for tech, along with the frequent paper waste we noticed at events we attended, inspired us to create a digital alternative,” he said.
He added that an event organiser also reached out to them with a similar request, which helped shape the team’s initial focus.
“From the outset, we prioritised user experience, aiming to make Eventorio intuitive and enjoyable for everyone involved,” he stated.
“At its core”, he continued, “Eventorio provides event organisers with an all-in-one digital guide for attendees”.
The app covers multi-day schedules, supports multiple stages or scenes, features a directory for sponsors and exhibitors, includes a bookmarking system, and provides multilingual support, among other features.
He explained that “this allows organisers to offer a paper-free, eco-friendly experience, with attendees receiving all necessary information conveniently in their pocket, well ahead of the event”.
Commenting on Cyprus’ technology scene overall, Yerou pointed out that the island provides “ample opportunities for a tech company” like Pale Blue, “as many local needs remain undigitised”.
“However, the challenge is that some are hesitant to adopt newer, greener solutions, clinging to traditional methods,” he said.
He further noted that “despite being based in Cyprus, we’ve positioned our company and our software, such as Eventorio, to appeal to a global audience, focusing on scalable solutions that address universal needs”.
Regarding any future plans, Yerou stated that the team has plenty of ideas for Eventorio’s growth and added functionality.
However, we mentioned that they “carefully validate each new feature with event organisers to ensure it meets actual needs and enhances the user experience, without overcomplicating the app”.
What is more, Yerou said that the app’s environmental credentials were a key motivator for Eventorio’s development.
“Our launch partner, Nicosia Book Fest, expressed concern about excessive paper waste for event schedules, which prompted us to look for a more sustainable solution,” he said.
“This eco-conscious approach has been central to Eventorio’s design from the start,” he added.
It should be noted that the app is currently available for free, while event organizers can contact the team at Pale Blue for more information.
