Troy city employee bitten by dog at temporary shelter
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Troy city employee was hospitalized on Monday after being bitten by a dog at a temporary animal shelter, according to city officials. Mayor Carmella Mantello said the employee was later released from the hospital and doing well at home.
The dog was euthanized.
Troy has been a temporary shelter ever since the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society informed the city in January that it would not take anymore dogs due to being at capacity.
Mayor Mantello also said, "There needs to be a regional solution as other municipalities are having issues with where to bring stray dogs."
