How Celtics Coach Joe Mazzulla Felt About Being Part Of ‘Jeopardy’ Clue
There might not be a bigger fan of the Boston-based heist movie “The Town” than Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla.
And Mazzulla’s love affair with the film surprisingly made its way to “Jeopardy!” on Tuesday night.
Mazzulla was used as part of the clue for contestants and viewers, with it reading: “Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has admitted to watching this heist film directed by Ben Affleck several times a week.”
Celtics fans certainly knew the answer to the prompt as did contestant Jonathan Fox, who lives in Plymouth, Mass. Mazzulla was asked for his reaction to what transpired on the longtime trivia show prior to the Celtics facing the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Wednesday night and the 36-year-old offered a four-word response.
“I couldn’t care less,” Mazzulla told reporters, per the Boston Herald’s Zack Cox.
Not even being used in a clue on “Jeopardy!” could take Mazzulla’s attention off of his team during the middle of its season.
He understandably kept his focus on what is going on for the Celtics on the court, especially with Boston dropping a 117-116 decision to the Atlanta Hawks to open NBA Cup play Tuesday.
“I mean, there’s nothing more interesting than winning and the process of winning,” Mazzulla said, per Cox. “It’s just (about) the consistency, the habits, the execution, the disciplines, the tendencies — all those things you’ve got to fight for. We’ve got to reestablish those ever year and you’ve got to fight for them.”
