Around the league...
- Major League Baseball announced its 2024 Silver Slugger award winners. Cal Raleigh, largely expected to the recipient at catcher in the American League, lost out to the Royals’ Salvador Pérez.
- The Angels continue to make major moves early in the offseason, signing backstop Travis d’Arnaud to a two-year deal.
- Jeff Passan at ESPN gave his mega preview of the 2024-2025 MLB offseason, with only two total mentions of the Mariners (one of which was a typo when he meant to say “Marines.”) ($)
- A complete autopsy of the damage at Tropicana Field in Tampa revealed that the ballpark is still structurally sound, but it will cost $55 million to complete the repairs on the stadium by 2026.
- Wander Franco now faces charges of illegal use and possession of a firearm after his attempted arrest turned ugly in the Dominican Republic.
Anders’ picks...
- For the Seattle-area music fans, we’ve got our summer artist at T-Mobile Park for 2025.
