Joe Biden & Donald Trump Meet Up Post-Election, Shake Hands & Exchange Statements (Video)
President Joe Biden shakes hands with the President-Elect, Donald Trump, in a meeting at the White House on Wednesday (November 13) in Washington, DC.
It is tradition for the outgoing President to meet with his successor after the election.
Biden said to Trump, “Well, Mr. President-elect and former president, Donald. Congratulations, and I’m looking forward to having, like we said, a smooth transition, doing everything we can to make sure you’re accommodated, get what you need.”
Trump said, “Thank you very much. Politics is tough, and it’s in many cases not a nice world, but it is a nice world today, and I appreciate it very much. A transition that’s so smooth, it will be as smooth as it can get. And I very much appreciate that, Joe.”

Later in the day, Trump spoke at a House Republicans Meeting and was joined by Elon Musk, who has been very closely tied to Trump in the months leading up to the election.
Trump is said to have nominated Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy to lead a department that currently does not exist, called the Department of Government Efficiency.
Of the department, Musk said, “this will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in Government waste, which is a lot of people!”
