Gayle King Cements Herself as Sneex’s No. 1 Fan While Walking Around in New York City
Gayle King hit the streets of New York City Tuesday afternoon in a comfortable pair of Sneex shoes.
Sneex, which was founded by Sara Blakely and recently included as one of Oprah’s Favorite Things of 2024, has quickly become known for its standout sneaker-stiletto hybrid (also called hy-heels), which is what King was wearing in NYC during her casual outing. The shoes, which are made in Spain, feature a 78 millimeter heel, napa leather, Italian mesh and suede materials.
Designed for comfortable wear as it redistributes weight off the ball of your foot as you walk. King’s pair is The Tepper style, which came in a red design with pink and orange dispersed throughout. The curved heel gave the silhouette some extra drama, while still being ultra comfortable to walk in, which is the goal of Sneex shoes in general. King paired the shoes with a magenta sweater dress and a fun floral coat with white fur on the collar and sleeves.
This isn’t the first time the talk show host has been seen wearing the fast-rising shoe. King appeared on “Late Night With Seth Meyers” this week to talk about the Favorite Things like, and wore a pair of green Sneex that she perfectly coordinated with her ensemble.
This past August, King invited Blakely onto her show “CBS Morning,” sharing posts on Instagram afterwards where she raved about the shoe, including a video of her pushing a suitcase through the airport while donning a pair of green Sneex saying people stopped her to ask where she purchased them. King was later said to have worn the pair for over 12 hours.
Per their brand statement, Sneex addresses comfort through its reengineered weight distribution, comfortable toe box and arch support, which in-turn helps to address the pain issues sometimes associated with wearing high heels.
Blakely, the creative behind Sneex shoes, is also responsible for the creation of Spanx, which she founded in 2000. Three different styles are available in a range of colorways, with prices varying between $395 to $595.
When King isn’t in Sneex, you can find her in a variety of pumps, notable sandals such as the Kate Spade T-strap’s and boots.
