Cops told teen daughter of tragic TV star Erin Plummer her dad Alan was missing just minutes before he was found dead

ERIN Plummer’s teenage daughter was told her dad had gone missing just minutes before he was found dead.

Alan Plummer, 49, was due to spend Sunday morning swimming with his close pal but was tragically discovered by cops at the bottom of a cliff.

The dad-of-three is believed to have spent the last few years battling with the death of his late wife Erin who he lost to suicide in 2022.

Erin was a beloved Aussie TV star whose death rocked the nation two years ago.

Alan went missing at around 6:30am in Sydney after falling to meet up with the friend.

The concerned pal phoned up police to request a welfare check on Alan.

Cops rushed round to his Freshwater family home and spoke to his 18-year-old daughter.

She had spent the Saturday night out and had just returned home – narrowly missing her dad as he left in the early hours of Sunday.

The teenager was out celebrating her friend’s birthday after having just finished her Higher School Certificate, a source told MailOnline.

Officers told her that her father hadn’t been seen for some time before leaving to complete further investigations.

Around an hour later Alan’s body was found at the foot of a cliff at Freshwater beach by a lifeguard.

It is feared that he took his own life in a suspected self harm incident.

A NSW Police spokesperson told the outlet: “Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner regarding the death of a 49-year-old man at Freshwater on Sunday.”

Erin and Alan are now survived by their three daughters – aged 18, 15, and 11.

The source added that Alan planned to move to Queensland with his 11-year-old daughter and had just sold the family home.

The Plummers paid $675,000 for the property in 2002, and it was first put up for sale in March of this year for an undisclosed fee.

Locals in Freshwater say the heartbreaking deaths of first Erin and now Alan have rocked the close community.

A source revealed that the people of Freshwater will stay strong and “come together” for the now orphan kids.

Just two years earlier the girl’s mum – Erin – also lost her life.

Erin was just 42 when she tragically died from suicide in 2022 after struggling with mental illness.

The Aussie TV host was best known for her work on daytime shows – including Today Extra and Studio 10.

The presenter also won 11 national titles and competed in three world championships as a synchronised swimmer for Australia.

One of her heartbroken pals previously said she regretted not “trying harder” to return her call after missing it days before the star took her own life.

Posting in a public Facebook memorial group, Danielle Lamour shared a heart-wrenching tribute as she referenced a home appliance company Erin previously promoted on TVSN.

She wrote: “Have watched this video over and over today to hear your laugh. It sums up our years spent as the ‘Danoz girl’.

“You in front of the camera filled with charm, me behind it making you laugh and getting the best out of you.

“Will always regret not trying harder to return your call last week, should have tried a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time.

“So thankful we kept our friendship going over the years and were much more than “old work mates”.

“You used to announce to the world that I was the best boss, but in reality, the best thing was you.”
