Mahomes, Kelce's homes burglarized last month, according to police reports
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The homes of Kansas City Chiefs stars Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce were burglarized in October in close proximity to a Monday Night Football game, FOX4 has confirmed.
According to two police reports, authorities responded to the incidents the day before and the day after the team's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Mahomes lives in Cass County in a gated community in what is called The Village of Loch Lloyd. Everyone has to pass through two gates to get there.
FOX4 has confirmed with the Cass County Sheriff's Office that a burglary report was taken at Mahomes' residence in Belton during the early morning hours of Sunday, Oct. 6.
The police report indicates it was a bodyguard who called about the incident.
Kelce lives in a gated community in Leawood, Kansas.
An online report from Leawood police indicates a burglary occurred at an address matching Kelce's home. The report was taken on Tuesday, Oct. 8.
TMZ reports that the police indicated that in this case Kelce's back door was damaged and $20,000 in cash was stolen.
After the game on Oct. 7, Kelce and his girlfriend Taylor Swift stayed at a downtown hotel.
It is unknown at this time if anything was taken or if anyone was home when the crimes took place.
TMZ reports that its sources believe the burglaries may be part of a larger crime spree.
The FBI is assisting in the investigation, according to TMZ.
FOX4 is following up with area law enforcement agencies and will continue to update as more information becomes available.
