Pro-Life Group Unveils “Make America Pro-Life Again” Roadmap to Save Babies From Abortions
Although Americans rejected Kamala Harris’ radical abortion agenda last week and voted down multiple pro-abortion ballot measures, other states approved abortions up to birth.
The Dobbs decision has been a great start for protecting babies from abortions. So far, 13 states protect all babies from abortion starting at conception and another 4 states have a heartbeat law protecting babies at 6 weeks when their heartbeats can be detected. A few other states are still in court fighting for their pro-life laws.
But, unfortunately, over half of America has abortion on demand. And pro-life groups are fighting hard to change that.
Today, Students for Life of America announced its Make America Pro-Life Again roadmap to protect more babies from abortions, even within the confines of legalized abortion in half the nation. The goal of the plan is to target dangerous abortion pills – that have killed a handful of women, injured thousands more, and killed millions of babies.
Most of the bills target mifepristone — the drug used in more than two-thirds of abortions nationwide. Some attempt to wield environmental laws to cut off access, while others aim to replicate Louisiana’s new law designating abortion pills as controlled substances…

While President-elect Donald Trump and other Republicans campaigned on a promise to leave abortion policy to the states, Students for Life is lobbying allies on Capitol Hill to ban telehealth prescriptions of abortion pills and slash funding for colleges and universities that provide abortion pills through student health centers.
“There’s the policy question of what we can do to limit the most amount of evil, do the most good, and move the ball down the court,” said Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life. “And then there’s also the question of how you continue to motivate a whole army of people to stay engaged and not believe the stories written on November 6 that the pro-life movement is dead because certain states passed abortion ballot referendums, and there’s nothing you can do. Wrong. There’s a whole hell of a lot you could do.”
Students for Life is pitching its strategy to influential and deep-pocketed conservative groups including the Heritage Foundation and Family Research Council: a plan modeled after the decades-long effort to chip away at abortion access when Roe v. Wade was still in effect. Specifically, they hope to replicate the state and federal laws and lawsuits that led to the 2007 Supreme Court decision Gonzales v. Carhart, which outlawed a common method of second-trimester abortion and paved the way for further restrictions. This time, the target will be abortion pills rather than a surgical procedure as the drugs have recently become the predominant method of terminating a pregnancy.
The state legislative blitz will kick off in January — in swing states like Arizona that have recently passed abortion rights constitutional amendments and conservative strongholds like Wyoming where court decisions protect access.
SFLA will also be working with members of Congress like Oklahoma Senator Josh Brecheen to pass abortion limis and defund Planned Parenthood.
“We must recognize abortion, in all its forms, for what it is: murder,” Brecheen said in a statement. “The federal government has a sacred duty to protect the right to life.”
