Xbox players grab three extra free Spyro games including a 91-rated classic
XBOX has received numerous complaints from fans over the past few months for its meagre Game Pass offerings.
Not only did Game Pass see a huge price increase, but Xbox Game Pass for Console was replaced by Xbox Game Pass Standard.
While Standard includes online play, it no longer offers day-one releases like Console used to.
This means those who use Game Pass to play single-player games, not only had to pay more, but saw the library of available games drastically reduced.
Adding insult to injury, Xbox then started reducing the number of games added to Game Pass every fortnight.
Some months, Standard players didn’t receive any new games to play, something that never happened before the price increase.
Game Pass players have been outraged by the changes, with many claiming to have cancelled their subscriptions.
It seems that Xbox is hoping to win some good will back from players, by offering three games from one of the most popular series of all time.
The Spyro Reignited Trilogy is now available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Standard, and PC.
This package contains remakes of the three most popular games in the Spyro series: Spyro The Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
All three games were originally released on the PS1 and are considered some of the best games on the console.
They are all 3D character platformers, where players explore levels, collect items, and defeat enemies.
All three games are definitely worth playing, so people should pick them up now that they are available.
Gamer’s Rage
It’s easy to see why players have been upset by the changes to Xbox Game Pass, particularly with the lack of new games.
Offering great games like those in the Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a great way to start repairing the trust with players, but it is just the first step.
Players will want to see consistent additions to the Standard as well as the Ultimate library going forward before they return to the service.
