Tragic TV star Erin Jayne Plummer’s husband dies following ‘self-harm incident’ 2yrs after her suicide as kids orphaned
THE husband of late Australian TV star Erin Jayne Plummer has tragically died as a result of an alleged self-harm incident.
Alan Plummer, 49, was found dead at the family’s Freshwater home in northern Sydney on Saturday – two years after he lost his wife to suicide.
The couple is now survived by their three daughters, who are now tragically orphaned, News.com.au reports.
In a statement, a NSW Police Force spokesman said: “Officers from Northern Beaches Police Area Command will prepare a report for the information of the Coroner regarding the death of a 49-year-old man at Freshwater on Saturday.”
Alan was the former director of a now-defunct company called Shine VIP Tours Australia PTY LTD.
The four-bedroom house Alan once lived with his late wife was sold at a private auction just two months before his death.
The Plummers paid $675,000 for the property in 2002, and it was first put up for sale in March of this year.
Erin was just 42 when she tragically died from suicide in 2022 after struggling with mental illness.
The Aussie TV host frequently appeared on Today Extra and Studio 10 and was most recognised for her TVSN advertorials.
She hosted the Nutri-Grain Ironman Series on MTV, Guest TV, TVSN, Totally Active TV, The Morning Show, and Channel 10 Sport.
The presenter also won 11 national titles and competed in three world championships as a synchronised swimmer for Australia.
Erin was described as a “family person” by her devastated friends.
One of her heartbroken pals previously said she regretted not “trying harder” to return her call after missing it days before the star took her own life.
Posting in a public Facebook memorial group, Danielle Lamour shared a heart-wrenching tribute as she referenced a home appliance company Erin previously promoted on TVSN.
She wrote: “Have watched this video over and over today to hear your laugh. It sums up our years spent as the “Danoz girl”.
“You in front of the camera filled with charm, me behind it making you laugh and getting the best out of you.
“Will always regret not trying harder to return your call last week, should have tried a 2nd, 3rd, 4th time.
“So thankful we kept our friendship going over the years and were much more than “old work mates”.
“You used to announce to the world that I was the best boss, but in reality, the best thing was you.”
