Chris Wallace Exiting CNN, Explains Why He's Leaving the Network After Three Years
Chris Wallace is not staying at CNN following the conclusion of his three-year contract with the network.
The 77-year-old journalist has decided to leave the network and he has announced his plans for the future.
“This is the first time in 55 years I‘ve been between jobs,” he told The Daily Beast. “I am actually excited and liberated by that.”

Chris plans to enter the streaming or podcasting world, noting people like Joe Rogan and Charlamagne tha God as some who’ve had success on the format.
He added of his future, “Not knowing is part of the challenge. I‘m waiting to see what comes over the transom. It might be something that I haven’t thought of at all.”
CNN reportedly wanted to keep Chris at the network.
“Chris Wallace is one of the most respected political journalists in the news business with a unique track record across radio, print, broadcast television, cable television and streaming,” CNN CEO and Chairman Mark Thompson said in a statement. “We want to thank him for the dedication and wisdom he’s brought to all his work at CNN and to wish him the very best for the future.”
