Fabio Paratici is still attending Spurs games and works as a consultant
The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel revealed the nature of the relationship that Fabio Paratici has with Tottenham Hotspur, a year and a half after his resignation.
Fabio Paratici’s time at Tottenham
Most Spurs fans will agree that Fabio Paratici‘s time as Spurs’ managing director of football was a successful one, although some of his decisions, such as the one to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo, failed.
The Italian certainly had an eye for talent, with most of his signings proving hits at the North London club, not least the likes of Cristian Romero, Dejan Kulusevski, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur, Pedro Porro and Pape Sarr.
Paratici eventually resigned from his role in April of last year after being hit with a ban for his role in Juventus’ alleged false accounting scandal.
Paratici’s relationship with Spurs
Sami Mokbel now reveals that a year and a half after his departure, the 52-year-old is still having an influence on Tottenham‘s decisions.
Paratici reportedly continues to work as a consultant for Spurs, even though the Lilywhites have revamped their recruitment department since his departure.
The journalist states that the former Tottenham managing director still regularly attends the club’s matches as a guest of the box holders at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Daniel Levy values Paratici’s input
It is well documented that Levy thinks very highly of Paratici’s judgement, which is probably why the Spurs chairman has decided to rely on the Italian.
However, one would think that the 52-year-old’s influence on the club’s recruitment decisions are now minimal, with Johan Lange and Ange Postecoglou now making the final calls regarding arrivals and departures.
The one thing that Spurs may be using Paratici’s expertise on is identifying the best emerging young talent, with his player suggestions perhaps arriving at the desks of Lange and the recruitment department.
