Cankton Elementary closed after janitor found dead in school
CANKTON, La. (KLFY) -- Cankton Elementary School is closed today after a longtime janitor of the school was found dead in the building, authorities said.
John J. Miller, 61, of Arnaudville, was found by staff members this morning, according to a statement by Cankton Police Chief J. Brent Breaux.
"It is with deep regret that in an unfortunate discovery, faculty members found the long time janitor of Cankton Elementary School, unresponsive this morning lying on the floor," the statement read.
Breaux said the cause of Miller's death appears to be natural causes.
The school has closed for the day and notifications were sent to students' parents, officials said.
