Cohoes taco spot under new ownership
COHOES, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Daisy Bar + Tacos, located at 182 Remsen Street in Cohoes, has a new owner. Rob Tario, a familiar name in the Capital Region dining scene, was officially announced as the new owner on October 17.
"There’s such a great community on Remsen Street and when I opened Smiths Public House last year, the owners of The Daisy, Joe and Kelly Proctor, were so welcoming," Tario told NEWS10. "When they approached me and shared their intentions to sell, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity."
Tario said the food menu is staying the same, but they'll be adding a few new items, having weekly specials, and expanding the cocktail menu. The Daisy serves nachos, chips with queso, salsa, and guacamole, tacos with a variety of fillings, margaritas, and wine.
"We've made a few changes to the aesthetics, to enhance the cozy vibe," said Tario. "All of the staff have stayed on during this transition and I am so grateful for their support."
Tario also owns Ship's Pub in Albany, and co-owns Tipsy Moose Tap & Tavern in Albany, Troy, and Latham, and the Tipsy Taco Cantina in Latham. The Tipsy Moose recently began franchising nationwide, and Tario said there has been interest both locally and out-of-state.
The Daisy is open Tuesday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. "Remsen Street really is special and it’s great to be a part of its new history and revitalization," said Tario.
