“Music was the thing that got the attention, but God had other plans for me,” Rihanna told an audience while speaking at the event. “And I was able to create in ways that were very sincere and genuine, or organic and authentic to the things that I love.”
She continued, saying, “So it doesn’t even feel like a job.”
A fan shared a clip of the speech on X (formerly Twitter), writing “She is gone.”
Others responded with their own interpretations.
“She tryna tell yall that she not releasing any music baby,” one fan wrote. Another said that her fandom needed “to accept already the fact that she’s not a singer anymore, she’s a business woman who WAS a singer.”
Regardless of her musical ambitions, many fans praised her accomplishments.
“Her music will live on forever but her impact reaches far beyond the stage,” someone wrote, with another saying that they were “proud of her.”
