On YouTube, DDG came out in support of Halle.
“One thing I don’t like when people do, I don’t like when people hate on Halle. I don’t care if people think she wrong or not, or if I think she wrong or right,” he said.
DDG continued, adding, “She could be going through something mentally after having a kid that I can’t understand as a man. So when situations like this happen, I try to handle it with as much grace as possible because Halo needs her. I need her; we need each other to create a childhood that’s safe and fun and memorable for him.”
He added that his son was “the biggest blessing” and that he wouldn’t be a dad without his ex.
“For that reason alone, I got unconditional love and respect for her that nobody can really change,” he said.
The musician stressed that he did not like being pitted against Halle by the public, especially as they navigated coparenting after their split.
“Y’all could hate on me for as long as y’all want, but leave Halle alone, man,” he said, adding that they’d be “family forever.”
Halle and DDG split in October 2024 after dating for several years.
