2024 Vendée Globe Start: Watch Online & Join the Virtual Regatta
The Vendée Globe 2024 is here! Watch the start online, track the race around the world, and even join the competition with the virtual regatta… Here’s everything you need to know.
The Vendée Globe brings together the very top elite off-shore sailors to compete a single-handed, non-stop, non-assisted race around the world. In the 2024/25 edition of this event, 40 skippers will battle against ocean, the weather, and each other, in a historic test of yacht technology, design, and human ability.
Key Race Start Info
The race is set to start on Sunday 10th November at 0800hrs (local time/0700hrs UTC), with the 40-strong fleet of IMOCA boats leaving the pontoon at Les Sables d’Olonne in France one-by-one, every three minutes. One of the favourites, Charlie Dalin (MACIF Santé Prévoyance) is due to leave first, leading the racers down the channel to the open sea – the final opportunity for the families, teams and thousands of supporters to wave the skippers off. The emotion and awe during this historic moment will be tangible, and you can watch it live at home!
The first live broadcast will run from 0730hrs 1030hrs for the pontoon and channel departures, and later at 1215hrs to 1400hrs for the sea start.
