Christina Haack & Ant Anstead Fuel the Josh Hall Divorce Drama by Making This Move
Oh, how times have changed! Just a few years ago, Christina Haack was battling her second ex-husband Ant Anstead in a child custody case for their son, Hudson, 5. Now, the former duo is teaming up on her upcoming HGTV show, The Flip Off, which she is currently filming with her first ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
It’s a tangled web of relationships, but this cameo, first reported by People, comes on the heels of her contentious divorce from Josh Hall (yes, her third ex-husband), who was supposed to co-star on the show. Haack and Anstead were all smiles as they were filming together on Thursday, Nov. 7, so we’ll take that as the official word that their long-running feud is over — and it’s really nice to see. (You can see the photos here.)
The olive branch to her ex came after it was revealed that Hall would not be a part of the home renovation series because of his split with Haack in July. The Christina on the Coast star was going to battle it out by herself against Tarek and Heather, but a fan suggested that Anstead should replace Hall instead.
The follower wrote on Haack’s July 19 Instagram post, “How awesome would it be to have Ant replace Josh on the flip off? Ratings would go through the roof. If it happens, I need some credit. Lol.”
Haack loved the idea, responding, “LOL that would be a genius ‘ratings’ idea just sayin.’” She also gave Anstead an Instagram follow which might have opened the lines of communication again.
We don’t know much about Anstead’s role on the show, but a People insider confirmed that “he won’t be Christina’s partner.” There’s no need to rush their friendly reconciliation, but it’s been reported that Anstead’s Oscar-winning girlfriend Renée Zellweger might have had something to do with their truce.
“She convinced Ant it’s silly to hold grudges and hated seeing him so worked up. Things are better now. She’s extended the olive branch to Christina, too, and looking forward to a drama-free holiday season,” a Life & Style source revealed.
Anstead’s appearance on the set of The Flip Off proves that time heals old wounds. Now, he and Haack can embark on an amicable co-parenting path and Hudson can have two parents looking out for his best interests. As for Hall? Well, he’s officially the odd man out now.
