Galway man sentenced in 2022 rape
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Galway man was sentenced Thursday for rape after pleading guilty to charges in September. Jayden Buckmaster, 20, was sentenced to up to 20 years for sex crime charges.
In October 2022, Saratoga police arrested Buckmaster after an investigation of sexual assault against a minor. At the time of his arrest, Buckmaster was accused to have had sexual intercourse with an 11-year-old child.
He was charged with rape in the first degree and promoting a sexual performance by a child. On September 5, 2024, Buckmaster pleaded guilty to his charges, both felonies.
Thursday, Buckmaster was sentenced in Saratoga County court. For the rape charge, Buckmaster was sentenced a term of 15 to 20 years and two to seven years for the promoting a sexual performance charge, to run concurrent to each other.
