Real life soap couple reveal they’re expecting first baby together as co-stars rush to congratulate them
A REAL-LIFE soap couple have announced they’re expecting their first baby together.
On Home and Away they played Ruby Buckton and Romeo Smith, who are in a relationship on the Aussie drama.

One of their biggest storylines was Ruby and Romeo’s phantom pregnancy.
But this time the joy is real.
The couple met on set and have been married for 11 years.
Rebecca and Luke have now revealed they’re expecting their first baby, with mum-to-be Rebecca posting a photo of herself at the premiere of her new film Kangaroo Island at the Adelaide Film Festival.
The star wrote on Instagram: “VERY excited to share baby Mitchell and @kangarooislandmovie coming sooooooooon!
“Thanks @adlfilmfest for having us and everyone who came to support us.”
Co-stars from the soap took to X, formerly Twitter to share their well wishes for the happy couple’s news.
Esther Anderson, who played her on-screen mother, police constable Charlie Buckton, was the first to post saying: “Yehhhh!!! Congratulations, you guys, such great news!”
Lynne Mcgranger, who played Irene Roberts for over 31 years, added: “Congratulations Bec and Luke! Very exciting news.”
Todd Lasance, who played Aden Jeffries until 2010, said, “Wooooo!!!!!! Congratulations, guys!!! I’m so stoked for you both!”
Jonathan Sadowski, an American actor, added: “AMAZING!!! Congrats!!!
Meanwhile, Lachlan Buchanan, who starred alongside Rebecca in Newcastle, also joined in the love for the couple, sharing happy emojis.
Rebecca stars in the film Kangaroo Island as Lou Wells.
Kangaroo Island was released on November 3 and is directed by Timothy David and written by Sally Gifford.
They aren’t the first actors to fall in love on set, a string of stars from UK soaps have hooked up.
