What is the golden, emerald, diamond & crown birthday TikTok trend?
While many are aware of their astrological sign and birthstone, many are unaware that there are other ways to celebrate our birthday according to the day it falls on.
Golden birthday
A golden birthday is when the age you’re turning is the same day as the day of your birthday.
So if you are turning 20 and your birthday is on the 20th of the month, you would celebrate your golden birthday.
Emerald birthday
An emerald birthday is when your birth month is the same number as the age you’re turning.
So if you were born in October, you emerald birthday would be the day you turn 10.
Being only 12 months an emerald birthday can only be celebrated up until the age of 12 – so current TikTokers must be past the day of the celebration.
Diamond birthday
A diamond birthday is when the last two numbers of the year you were born match the age you’re turning .
For example, if you were born in 1986, your diamond birthday would be turning 86 years old.
Crown birthday
A crown birthday is when the age you’re turning is the same as the two last numbers of the year you were born and the day you were born.
So if your birthday is October 21, 2021, your crown birthday would be on your already-significant 21st birthday.

Tiktok is home to a new viral trend known as the “Hear me out” challenge.
The new TikTok aesthetic has got many wondering what it is and how they can get involved.
TikTok’s “hear me out” cake trend is a popular video that users are recreating.
Sometimes referred to as the “smash cake challenge”, “hear me out” involves participants deciding who they would smash or pass on from a list of celebrities.
The challenge is an opportunity for players to confess their wildest secret celebrity crush to the world, no matter how bizarre or nonsensical it might seem.
Instead of candles, people will pin cut out images of celebrity faces on a cake to symbolize their crush as a birthday wish of some kind.
The hear me out challenge is a fun adult game to play on your birthday.
And many TikTok creators use the challenge as a way to improve engagement with their followers, most of which can’t help but respond in agreement, and at times repulsion to the creators crush confessions.
Other TikTok challenges that have gone viral are, the “Just Give Me My Money” trend.
This is a prank where participants say the phrase “just give me my money” in a funny voice and then cheer and applaud, except for one person, who is left out intentionally.
Then there’s the “Who want smoke” challenge that led to school officials to issue warnings over due to the claims that the challenge promoted gun violence.
The hear me out challenge is innocent fun, however some TikTok challenges have been called out for causing potential harm to participating children.
