My friends got tipsy then had sex in the OFFICE – I’m disgusted & want to report it but people urge me not to
A WOMAN has been urged not to report two of her colleagues for secretly having sex at work.
She said the pair had been dating for a few months before their “inappropriate” behaviour in the office.

However, she was stunned by what she overheard when everyone got “tipsy” at the pub after work.
“Today the guy mentioned to someone else (who is dating my closest friend),” she wrote on Mumsnet.
“That when they went back to the office to pick up their stuff before leaving they got carried away and had sex.
“AIBU [am I being unreasonable] to think this is massively inappropriate and to report it?”
A flood of responses to the post argued the woman shouldn’t get involved and claimed she was just “jealous” of her colleagues.
“You sound bitter and twisted. I wouldn’t ever want to be your ‘friend,’” one person said.
“What’s it got to do with you, not that you have actual proof anyway. Just keep out of what doesn’t concern you,” another wrote.
“You want to report two of your work friends because they got drunk at a work function and got carried away in the office?” a third wrote.
“Well that’s one way to mark your cards I suppose. Unless it’s illegal or life-threatening, mind your own bloody business.”
A fourth commenter argued there’s no point reporting it because there would be no consequences for her colleagues.
“If you reported it to me, I would just tell you it’s hearsay and gossip,” they wrote.
“No proof, nothing anyone can do about it.
“Not something I would do and wouldn’t be overly impressed with anyone who does but all you have here is gossip.”
Another person said it isn’t uncommon for people to have sex in their offices.
“People have been having sex in their offices for many many years,” they said.
“What does it matter so long as they aren’t leaving a damp patch on the papers on your desk or shagging in full sight of other people?
“I can’t believe that anyone would seriously consider reporting something like this.”

Other responses to the post said news spread fast and she wouldn’t need to report it for those in charge to find out.
A commenter confessed she had been in a similar situation and would’ve been embarrassed if her coworkers found out.
“Oh god! I did that in my 20s, We weren’t actually dating just FWB [friends with benefits] and we did it at work once,” she said.
“Neither of us ever told anyone else and I would have been furious if he’d told other people at work.
“I wouldn’t report (because I’m not a hypocrite) but I would tell her that he’s sharing their sex life with the rest of the office.”
Just a few people admitted they would take action regardless of how it may affect their coworkers’ careers.
One person said they’d ask security to check the cameras for items going missing in the hopes that they were caught on camera.
“I’d dob them in, that is f***ing grim behaviour rutting in the workplace,” another wrote.
“Blurgh. They deserve to be sacked for that. How old are they, 17 that they can’t wait till they get home?”
