Noel on the Prairie: Support small businesses
EUNICE, La. (KLFY) -- Over 30 small businesses in Eunice are hosting "Noel on the Prairie" to kick off the holiday shopping season.
This weekend marks 25 years of Eunice businesses, from boutiques to restaurants, offering discounts and prizes during the weekend-long holiday shopping event.
Kim Fontenot, Noel on the Prairie organizer and owner of Merle Norman, said those who participate can win $800 worth of gift cards from local businesses.
You can pick up a Noel on the Prairie card from any participating merchant and have each business stamp it as you go in.
“You visit the store, and you get a stamp for every store that you visit," Fontenot said. "Once you get 12 stamps on your card, you turn it in for a grand prize. It is a gift certificate from every merchant. You're going to have 32 gift certificates, $25 from each merchant.”
The drawing for the winner will be on Thursday, Nov. 14.
Lauren Rich, owner of Vogue La Vie, said this event allows people to invest in their community by shopping locally.
"It allows people to invest back into our community by putting their money where their heart is-at home," Rich said. "When people choose to shop local, they are supporting a tangible family, a family that is a part of our community that they know."
Noel on the Prairie is this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 12-4 p.m. in Eunice.
