Creamline parts ways with Risa Sato after 10 PVL titles
MANILA, Philippines – Risa Sato has ended an ultra-successful six-year run with Creamline.
The Cool Smashers on Friday, November 8, announced that they have parted ways with Sato after the middle blocker requested a release from her contract set to expire in December.
“In recognition of her many years of dedicated service to the team, we have extended our understanding and utmost consideration regarding her request, granting her certain accommodations to support her as an athlete while respecting the terms of the contract,” Creamline said in a statement.
Sato helped the Cool Smashers capture a record 10 championships in the Premier Volleyball League after joining the club in 2018.
The Filipina-Japanese has won 12 PVL titles in total, including the 2017 Open Conference with the BaliPure Water Defenders and the 2017 Collegiate Conference with the NU Lady Bulldogs.
“On behalf of management and the entire team, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Risa for her dedication and service. Her efforts and good vibes have been instrumental in our growth and success and we hope she has gained valuable experiences during her time with us,” Creamline said.
The winner of the last four conferences, the Cool Smashers gun for their fifth straight championship without Sato in the All-Filipino Conference that kicks off the 2024-2025 season on Saturday, November 9. – Rappler.com
