'Isn't that what you voted for?' CNN host goes head-to-head with Latino Trump voter
CNN's Jim Acosta confronted Republican National Hispanic Assembly Vice Chair Luis Figueroa on Thursday about President-elect Donald Trump's plans for mass deportation.
During a panel discussion about Trump significantly increasing support from Latino voters in 2024, Acosta asked Figeuroa about past mass deportation programs that swept up both undocumented immigrants and American citizens.
"Do you want to see that happen?" he asked.
"I think that, first of all, let me start by saying, in 2020 when this started to happen, President Joe Biden assigned Kamala Harris as the border czar," Figueroa began.

At this point, Acosta corrected him and said that Harris was never assigned to be a "border czar," and he tried to turn back the conversation to the topic of mass deportations.
"My question was whether you want to see mass deportations," he said. "Do you want to see mass deportations?"
"So the first thing we need to do is close the border," Figueroa said. "More than 10 million people illegally entered the country. There have to be deportations."
"Deportation camps?" Acosta asked him.
"I'm not saying deportation camps," Figueroa clarified.
"Isn't that what you voted for?" he asked.
"They are in camps now!" he replied.
