I transformed my dated, beige bathroom using B&M and Matalan buys – the colour might be controversial but people love it
YOU don’t have to spend a fortune to get the bathroom of your dreams, this women updated her boring beige bathroom with a few savvy highstreet buys.
Her tricks are great if you’re on a budget and don’t want to fork out for the pleasure.
DIY fan Melissa Walker, who is from the UK, shared that thanks to cheap buys from Amazon, B&M, B&Q and Matalan, she was able to turn her bathroom from drab to fab.
Thrilled with her bathroom’s transformation, Melissa took to social media to share a before and after look at the space, leaving many open-mouthed.
Posting on DIY On A Budget Official, a private Facebook group with 2.2 million members, Melissa posted a snap of her bathroom before she gave it an overhaul, alongside pictures of the finished space.
Alongside the post, Melissa wrote: “Our downstairs bathroom/shower room. We completely gutted the shower and rebuilt it.”
She then confirmed: “All the work in this room was done by ourselves on a budget of £500, although we did have the tiles already that were left over from a relative’s house.”
Melissa opened up to Fabulous about her bathroom makeover, and explained that she nabbed her sink, tap and vanity from welove.co.uk.
Not only did the tiling make a huge difference to the space, but she also used Valspar paint, in the shade Haunting Melody, to add colour and style to the once very dark and dated bathroom.
She also nabbed her shower screen from Manomano.co.uk and her shower and toilet seat from Amazon.
But when it came to accessorising the space, Melissa bought her circular mirror and her potted plants from B&M.
She then got her towel rail and and toilet roll holder from B&Q and art prints from Matalan.
To finish off the space, Melissa added wall art, which she ordered online from Etsy.
We think that Melissa’s space looks fabulous – and thanks to her cheap buys and a lick of paint, it is super stylish, whilst incredibly unique.
Melissa’s bathroom glow up has clearly impressed many, as her post has quickly racked up 344 likes and 58 comments.
Facebook users were left open-mouthed at the bathroom’s transformation and many were keen to share this in the comments.
Not only did users think it looked ‘beautiful’ but many praised Melissa’s choice of purple paint.
