Heidi Klum Reveals One Thing Daughter Leni Does While Modeling That Makes Her So ‘Proud’
Some kids want nothing to do with their parents’ things, but not Leni Klum. The 20-year-old is a big fan of her mom Heidi Klum’s fashion, and it makes the 51-year-old supermodel so “proud.”
Klum attended Prince William’s fourth annual Earthshot Prize Awards on Nov. 6, where she opened up about her daughter re-wearing her clothes. “I get so excited when I see my daughters re-wearing my clothes,” Heidi told PEOPLE at the event in Cape Town, South Africa. “My eldest daughter, she also is a model, and she goes to events and when she wears my clothes, I’m not just proud but we can upcycle.”
To be fair, if your mom is Heidi Klum, you would probably want to wear her clothes every chance you got, too! Like for prom, when Leni wore her mom’s ‘90s silk dress. At the event, Heidi added that she is planning on “passing clothes down to my kids.”
“… I think it’s so important also to keep wearing your things. I think in the past, we’d wear something once and then we’d never wear it again, and it’s so wrong to do,” she continued. “I urge everyone to wear your amazing things that you have in the closet. It’s the best shop, your own closet.”
She added, “I have four kids and hopefully I will be a grandmother one day and what about my grandkids? We have to think about our tomorrow.”
The Project Runway host is also mom to Lou, 15, Johan, 17, and Henry, 19, with ex-husband Seal. She recently went to the red-carpet event for her annual Halloween party with Leni, both dressed in elaborate alien-inspired costumes.
At an interview at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2023, Heidi told PEOPLE how proud she is of her daughter. “I’m very proud of my daughter and her modeling. And she’s studying at the same time, she’s juggling already.”
